The Combi Filter has both a ceramic and activated carbon element; you can use one or both filter elements. This two stage filter system removes all bacteria and protozoa (including Giardia and Crypto) plus it removes chemicals such as iodine, chlorine and potential health hazards such as pesticides and insecticides.
